Long time interest in Long… I like the inclusion of labels in his work that describe the materials put to work in the piece “Untitled” , for instance, I wonder, why River Avon mud? The hint of a larger story?
A line, nature with nature - what guides the line?
So happy to be sending out this drawing on its way to a new life - today!

GERHARD RICHTER, KÖLN - COURTESY GERHARD- RICHTER-ARCHIV DRESDEN
“There was the painting of a warship that had been hit by a torpedo. It was shown in 1964, in the first gallery show of a painter who was still unknown at the time. It looked serious and dramatic, with the calm water in the distance, the inconspicuous silhouette of the ship and, underneath it all, a gigantic explosion. But then it disappeared.” via

I appreciate mostly the drawings: particularly the study of proportions within a square… imagine a dialogue of thought about containment and escape, balance and asymmetry, perfection and flaw…

Must get my hands on this!
“For this volume, Wade Guyton first had the book designed, and then printed it on the same ink-jet printers he used for his large-format serial prints on canvas. These pages were then scanned and printed by offset. In a sense, this artist’s book is a work on the questions of reproduction, original, source, and re-formation at the heart of Guyton’s practice.”
